California Approves 4 Companies & Hawaii Starts AV Testing

California has now approved four companies to operate self-driving vehicles without a human operator behind the wheel. The other companies include AutoX, Nuro, and Waymo. The vehicles will be able to operate in limited settings of less than 45 miles per hour, on a select set of streets in San Mateo County, and in certain weather conditions down.

Meanwhile, Hawaii has now passed a law to allow for autonomous vehicle testing on public roads with a human operator behind the wheel, becoming the 29th US state to do so.
